Hayes Honey Open Day – 16 May at 11am to 4pm FREE ENTRY

Local, raw, pure honey direct from the hive! This is your chance to see the beehives, chat with the beekeepers and stock up on honey, honeycomb and beeswax balms.

Neighbourhood Recipe Bonanza – 7-8, 10-15 May at 7am to 2pm FREE ENTRY

The Pear’s well loved free neighbourhood library has a recipe book focus for the Adelaide Food Fringe. Bring out your old cook books, browse and take what inspiration you can find from the pre-loved ones. Take them home, give a recipe a whirl, and send us your new culinary successes via Facebook or Insta. Plus, we are seeking your family favourite secret recipes and cooking hacks. Write them out (long hand) and post them in the ‘Secret Recipe’ post box at the Pear.

Future Food Workshop for Families – Taste & Learn with Post Dining – 15 May at 1pm to 2.30pm Full Price $45.00

Discover the future of food in this tasty and imaginative workshop for families exploring what and how we might be eating by the year 2050. Take a deep dive into four possible future worlds (developed by the Australian Academy of Science) which look into ideas of Growth, Restraint, Catastrophe and Transformation.

Food Secrets at the Green (+ kids cooking classes) – 16 May at 11am to 3pm FREE ENTRY

With a feast of flavours to be enjoyed by families and foodies alike – there’s something to suit every palate at Food Secrets at the Green.

Onkaparinga Open Week – 7-16 May at 9am to 5pm FREE ENTRY

The Open Week will:
• Showcase community food security activities in our region – gardens, share carts, free and affordable meals, markets
• Show members of the community how they can join existing community gardens and contribute or set up share tables
• Provide information on verge gardening, preserving and foraging
• Network so we can use excess food more effectively
• Continue towards ensuring everyone has access to sufficient, affordable nutritious food, especially fresh fruit and vegetables
• Empower more members of our community to lead healthy, productive, connected lives.

Aldinga Community Picnic with The Food Embassy – 16 May at 1pm to 3pm FREE ENTRY

Come and join in at this free community picnic event where we will be celebrating local food! Bring your own picnic, taste delicious locally grown food, experience the Community Garden and other free activities for all ages.

 

Just Eat Plants Cooking Demonstration at Adelaide Central Market – 14 May at 6pm to 7pm FREE ENTRY

Rebecca will demonstrate how easy it is to create delicious meals using whole plant foods. Enhance flavour of your food without compromising on nutritional value. Cooking healthy and delicious plant-based meals is achievable and liberating and what better place to start your plant based journey than in the amazing Adelaide Central Markets!

Latvian celebratory cakes, both savoury and sweet, are like a mirror to our nations very way of life. They reflect both its geographical origins and cultural conventions of its people. Two Fat Blokes filling you up and filling the air with their delicious smelling Pizza’s. We’ll have live music, award winning wine the best non-alcoholic grape juice you’ve ever had! Cold Mismatch Beers and Cider also available but more importantly great atmosphere and vibes for you to relax on a Sunday afternoon. Green Brick Road – Vegan Food Trail is part of the 2021 Adelaide Food Fringe. No tickets needed, you design the trail to order from as many participating food joints as you like and at a pace that suits you, dine in, take away or delivery!
