Rotaract Cooking Class: East Turkistan

In collaboration with the MCCSA’s Successful Communities and the East Turkistan Australian Association, we bring you our next Rotaract Cooking Class! We’ll be learning how to make Uyghur Piter Manta – A traditional and distinctly Uyghur/Central Asian dumpling dish of meat, pumpkin and onion.

Mahbuba Abdurahim is a proud Uyghur-Australian mother and an active community member with the ETAA for the past 17 years. Mahbuba has 4 children, 4 grandkids and has previously worked in a school canteen for 6 years at Garden College and the Australian Islamic College. Mahbuba is passionate about educating Australians on the joys of cooking and sharing her traditions and customs with the local community.
